Great Ocean Road

Bay Of Islands
Lochard Gorge
Jon and I are glad we'd been along the Great Ocean Road previously! We left Warrnambool in beautiful sun shine and the drizzly weather followed us and then set in to be rain., at it's worst while we were standing on the 12 Apostle Viewing platform!
12 Apostles - in the rain!
It is a beautiful coastline and I'm guessing the kids can see it better when they bring themselves on another visit to the area.

Hooded Plovers

Check the label! The OBVIOUS bottle to drink on this stretch of road
We decided to 'rough it' for a couple of nights, with no power or hot water, at a campsite called Johanna Beach. Fantastic scenery, even in the rain! The second day was a much better day, but a cool night. 'Daryl', (a single retired bloke, who did his rounds of the campsite of a morning and evening to have a chat with everybody), informed us in the morning, through chattering teeth, that it was currently 2 degrees on the thermometer he carries with him. Unbelievable - a stones throw from the beach, February and it was still nearly a frost!

Johanna Beach - Drizzly afternoon!

Johanna Beach - nicer morning!
