Australia's longest waterfall

The Wallaman Falls are Australia's longest permanent waterfalls, at a drop of 268m (and a 20 meter deep pool underneath!). There is some discrepancy tho', as the websites say they are 305m in length! Not sure who is right??

We were lucky enough to see this on the first day that the road into it, from Ingham, had been reopened to the public since Cyclone Yasi has 'reeked havoc' in this part of Queensland.

We couldn't walk down into the gorge, (see Lily smiling!!) as this track was still damaged from the cyclone.

We found the 'post cyclone' environment fascinating. The skyline of surrounding mountains, and all the way from Ingham to Innisfail, had 'stalky' looking trees along their ridges, where the cyclone had stripped foliage from trees. Many were reshooting, but the sheer area of damage was amazing. Kilometres and kilometres of affected land and vegetation litter at the base of trees, and obviously, trees that had been uprooted and blown over.
