Darwin - 4 generations holidaying together!

Finally, the day had arrived and we were in Darwin, ready to meet Daniel, Nicole, Isabelle & Mia and Jake at the Airport. It was even exciting at 2.00am! We’d managed a couple of hours sleep before the alarm "chirruped" and off we went, taking Ken and Trish’s ute also, to fit everybody in.
With big hugs all round (and the girls hadn’t forgotten us!!), we headed back to the caravan park to “squeeze” our selves onto one site. Two little tents, one swag and the camper – with a few different sleeping arrangements over the next few nights, we settled into a lovely holiday routine. This was nicely helped along by the marvellous warm weather. Day time temps got to about 32 and with a night time min. of 20 or so. Those just in from the frosty cold southern state of SA were really appreciating the warmth and lack of cold wind, and they didn’t dare complain when it ‘nearly’ felt too hot on occasion. The Darwinians were actually commenting on the unseasonal humidity though, so there was a reason for the beads of perspiration that hung about a bit!
Our very grown up Mia - now 2 1/2
Isabelle - heading towards 4 , and going into the "kindy room" at Childcare when she got back

Ken & Trish had their caravan on a site just over the roadway from us, so this was very convenient – for a change of scenery, a bit of extra space and some air conditioning for sleeping girls!
...also good for bathing in - the bottom

Every day, of our week in Darwin, was filled with lots of chatting, the boys cooking their massive egg and vegie breakfasts, Mahalia coffee, swimming, a bit of sight seeing, spending time with the “precious princesses”, Happy Hour, organising more food, and then cards at night. All just wonderful.

Grannie painted everyone's toenails - Cate's, Nicole's, Lily's, Isabelle's and Mia's. Whose are who's??
