Jed's view of the Ningaloo Reef

Cape Range National Park is located on the North West Cape. We stayed in Exmouth for four nights and then headed out to Cape Range National Park. The park is located on the western side of North West Cape the opposite side of Exmouth.

We stayed in the Yardie Homestead Caravan Park which is just north of the national park. The caravan park was only 36km from Exmouth so it wasn’t a long trip. Later that day we went to Turquoise Bay which is the main snorkelling spot but didn’t do much as it was so windy. The next morning everyone was a bit tired because it blew a gale that night. We heard that the best time for snorkelling was in the morning so we trotted off to Turquoise Bay again. It was still a bit breezy but we hopped in and looked around. It was awesome! The colours of the fish and the coral were cool. So we ended up staying there for about 3 hours. After that we went to the Oyster Stacks to snorkel and it was so different to Turquoise Bay. The fish were different and so was the coral.

One of the days there, we went on a Humpback whale watching tour. We got about 20m away from a 30 ton beast.

The next day we packed up and drove to Coral Bay which was the most boring drive ever.
Look at that awesome colour at Turquoise Bay

walking over the dunes to the beach

You can just walk off the beach to go snorkelling.  None of this catching a boat to the reef ,
like over the other side of Australia
