Coffee at Isabella's Cafe - of course!

Cute girl...cute cafe!

Isabella's Cafe - at Cape Nelson. In the site of the lighthouse keeper's stable.

Cape Nelson Lighthouse

The signal room.

The signal room with telescope and signal flags used for communicating with passing ships.

The best days start with a good coffee! Don't they? We couldn't resist when the cafe at Cape Neslon, near Portland, had such a great name. (and the coffee was okay too!)

We had a fantastic tour around the Cape Nelson Lighthouse, which is still in use today. Albeit, not with flags and telescopes!! The guide was particularly good at involving the kids and teaching them about the different features of the lighthouse, how it works, the various measurements involved and the role of the Lighthouse Keeper, in manning and maintaining the lighthouse. Interesting, but the march flies nearly carried us away!

And if you want more information you'll have to ask the kids. My brain appears to be in 'overload'!
