Portland

It seems to be hard to find the time to add a post, or two. I've got a bit of catching up to do...

The last day of January, and we arrived in Portland - knocking on the door of Ted & Sue Skewe's home! We arrived to stay one night, and we ended up staying three! How we could we leave with such a welcome and a warmly hospitable environment? Not to mention, another 2 story house, pool, spa and wait for it...inside beds again! Sue and Ted are set up, with lots of double spare rooms, to have boarders who have minimal impact on their busy lives. (That's not to say that 2 'galumphing' children going up and down the stairs didn't impact on them at all!)
Unfortunately, Sue had to work each day we were there, but we still fitted in some quality chat time, scrapbook sharing, red wine consumption and the sharing of some dinner preparation.
Ted, interrupted his schedule to give us the low down on the 'sights' of Portland and even a guided tour of the harbour and smelter areas. An interesting area, made all the more interesting by a 'local'.

Ahh... what a way to while away the hours

Another fascinating structure of engineering! Unloading woodchips.

Thankyou to Ted and Sue for making us feel so welcome. We really enjoyed our time!
