Geelong for the day - Friday, 11th Jan

Model T - the start of it all!

After Lily attended a scheduled "library" lesson, (no one else did tho'!!?? Not sure what happened there.) we left for Geelong, mainly to pick up mail, that had been sent to the central post office there. We however, also made time for a couple of "educational"(??) excursions - to the Wool Museum and the Ford Discovery Centre. Both set up well and interactive for the kids. (Not that we are 'Ford' people, but it was interesting, particularly for the rev- heads of the family).

a classic

This Territory was actually just a model - about a metre long, and made of clay!

We loved this 'crash test dummy'!
Then we lunched along the Geelong foreshore, watching tourists take off in seaplanes and helicopters  and headed home doing a quick detour through Torquay, to Bell's Beach, so we could say we've been there.  Thought about getting out the surfboard...but the surf just wasn't up to it!? (For Bell's Beach standards, I'm sure it was pretty 'shoddy'.) there were still plenty of surfers about tho', doing lot's of board sitting.

Bell's Beach on a 'coolish' day, with hopeless waves!
